Absolutely Santa! All of us who believed when we were little surely are not mad at our parents for "lying" to us. That is the most ridiculous reason I have heard. And, no I'm not selfish and don't need the thank you's from the kids. By playing the character I get all the thank you's I need when the look of excitement is on their face as they unwrap the special gifts they had wanted. Obviously, Jesus is the main reason for Christmas as that is the time of year we celebrate his birthday. But, St. Nicholas is also a very large part of Christmas and we are able to incorporate both in very special and meaningful ways. The kids play Santa and also give to those in need. It is a great way for them to understand.
