Re: Does anyone here have a vintage stove in their kitchen?
My parents have an O'Keefe and Merrit stove from the 1950s that they bought and had refurbished. It is beautiful looking and functional, with 4 burners and a griddle in the middle. The only problem they have with it is it never "cools" down, meaning it always feels warm to the touch. It seems to be quite inefficient since it produces A LOT of heat when it is on too. So they try to not use the oven in the summer since it really heats the house up! Also, the oven temp runs high, so they just have a thermometer that sits inside to gauge the temp instead of the nob. It is a beautiful and unique piece, but definitely not as efficient and accurate with temps as newer stoves
