Has this been an ongoing thing or is it just in the last year or so? 9 is around the time that we had the most trouble getting my son to do the majority of his work that required any reading on his part. I had to read all of his instructions to him and any time I tried to get any independent silent or out loud reading out of him you would think I was torturing him. Then in the last few months now that he is about 10.5 it is like that stage never happened. He is now reading at least a long book( such as harry potter) a week or several shorter books.

The one other thing that I have not seen mentioned yet that may be a possibity is has she had her eyes checked lately? Maybe things are not focusing right so that makes reading not very fun.
