Re: What's the deal with wool?

I put a home knitted wool soaker, one layer, on my son last night since I was out of sposies, which I usually use at night, and I had no leaks at all with it, even though I only changed him once. If I only change him once, he usually leaks out of a sposie. I used a fitted with a preemie prefold wrapped around the bottom of it and covered it with the wool. Normally, he fusses right away if he is wet in cloth, but he was a happy camper in this. I think the warmth and breathability of the wool helps him not to feel so wet. Not only will the wool absorb a lot of moisture, if you lanolize it, it will repel quite a bit of moisture as well, and because it's breathable, I think the airflow helps dry it a bit.
