No babies myself but I don't like holding other people's babies unless it's family, no matter their age. Even with family I only hold babies when asked to (including my niece). I know that i'll be selfish with my babies someday. Close family (parents, sisters) & close friends will get to hold the baby when I ask them to (I know they will want too and i'll need to put the baby down at some point) but they know i'll freak if they just grab the baby. DH and I are private people so everyone knows what to expect. Other semi-close family can wait until I decide to come visit them once the baby is a few months old. Distant family & husband's side of the family can just get over it because the only time they will ever get to see my kids are when we end up in a store together and they will not be holding my kids. My MIL is dead and the rest of the ILs are druggies/thieves and my distant family are druggies/thieves as well. Strangers will absolutely never get to hold my babies.
