Agree with other moms that if you have the yeasty-beasties that you can't always see something on the breast or in baby's mouth. 2 things I want to add is if only you're being treated (i.e. Topical antifungal or gentian violet) and baby is not, you will not get better. Every time you nurse you reintroduce. Also, the deeper pain you are describing could be a ductal infection. I think topical/oral nystatin for the babe and oral diflucan for you wouldn't be unreasonable. You could also apply nystatin topically to your breast as well (so you wouldn't have to worry about wiping it off when you nurse). I wouldn't wait this out. That's too painful and sound like you should have some relief!
