Consigning clothes

We just found out last week that we are expecting a little girl in March. Our son is now 2, and I had been holding on to all of his old clothes in case we had another boy. This will most likely (like 99%) be our last child, and as I was looking at a pile of too-small clothes waiting to be put away, I began to wonder if it was worth it. I'm just curious how many went ahead and consigned/sold the clothes of their older children before the new one came. I know some of this is a bizarre attachment to a few outfits that DS wore that I know I won't be able to use again, but thought I'd ask for advice and experience. Thanks.
