I like to keep mine pretty simple
1 large (29 oz) can tomato sauce
4 cans of beans, drained (I like to mix and match pinto, red, and black beans)
1–2 Tbsp cumin
2 Tbsp chili powder
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
½ tsp crushed red pepper
1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
Mix all ingredients in a large pot and heat over low to medium-low heat. If you have time, leave it to simmer for at least 60 minutes. You can also mix it together in a crock pot and heat on low for 4 hours. If you have less time, simmer 30-60 minutes until heated through.
Serve with grated cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips or corn bread.
