I am quite interested in this question as well. I have a nephew with all the symptoms you described, OP. His mom has considered having them removed, but wasn't comfortable with the idea, and I would love to give her some info about alternative options. Also, I have always had huge tonsils and so I wouldn't be surprised if my children end up with them as well.

I do know one boy who had fluid in his ears, and it was causing hearing loss. His hearing improved greatly after seeing an Osteopathic Dr who did osteopathic manipulations (kind of like craneo-sachral, I think). BUT, I don't think the fluid build up was adeniod or tonsil related.
