Re: Name spelling woes
With DD1 DH picked the name, and I picked changed the spelling (this did actually make it the Irish version of the name, and I am Irish). DD2 I picked the name, and DH didn't like the spelling so we agreed to keep the name/change the spelling (in the delivery room). This made the name no longer Irish. DH and I are both of multiple cultural backgrounds though none of which are the same so I'm not sure it's as big of a deal to either one of us, as much as I just thought it might be nice to have Irish names since the names we picked had Irish spellings. Again it might be easier to say for sure if we knew the names, but I wouldn't want DH thinking our baby's name was "ugly" either.
