Cord blood donation?

With my first pregnancy I had been hoping to donate the cord blood, but ended up not doing it for 2 reasons. One was because I had already done my blood test. I HATE needles and only consent to one draw the entire pregnancy - and one thing they required hadn't been drawn (hep c?? I don't remember). So I wasn't willing to go through a blood test just for that. And the other reason was that we delay clamping the cord and I read that the amount they'd be able to collect would likely be thrown out anyways for being too small.

So now this time around I'm wondering if I get the necessary tests during my draw if it's worth donating cord blood? We will delay the cord clamp. Is it possible to still donate? Do they really discard it if the quantity is too low?
