And now I have read up on the Leapfrog "standalone" toys. Most of them do require a computer that you can download an app to. And they are really aimed at preschoolers. Fork. That makes this hard, like Jess said the $40 cap really limits what you can buy. For that I can get a Tag and a book to go with, or maybe the learning to write bundle, or a map. And then if they don't have a computer at home they can't use it. If the kid was 4 I would totally do the toys instead of Tag, but at 6 they could still be young enough for the toys but they could also be way too advanced for it.
