My Mood:
updated - baby in 5th percentile at 2months

DD was 7.6 at birth, lost a pound within a week, then gained it right back the next week. She was 9.6 at her 2 month appt on Monday, making her in the 5th percent. now. Dr. says she's "borderline concerned" and I need to bring her back in 2 weeks for a weight check. I'm freaking out a little. Technically she has gained only 3 lbs in 2 months. She has been sleeping through the night for the past 3 weeks. I figured she would wake up if hungry... she eats an average of 1 ounce for every hour awake and I feed on demand. So does DH and the sitter. Should I be concerned? I do not want to supplement!

update- Took DD in for another weight check and she has only gained 2 ozs in 2 weeks She is still sleeping through the night and appears happy, except for watery dark poop a few times in the last few days. Doc checked her over today and said she seems fine otherwise and come back in another 2 weeks. If she hasn't improved they will start running labs. I asked about supplementing and waking her up at night to feed and she said not to. I am at a loss...

ETA Dr. is using the CDC chart. I checked the WHO chart today and she is the same percentile there, 5% like she was two weeks ago. Thanks for all the support, I was not freaking out today until she said "failure to thrive" and mentioned labs and a GI specialist.
"Mama" to my sweet Josie 9/26/08, Lilia 9/24/12 (vbac!), and Everett 6/24/15 (vbac #2!)
