I would have had I known about extended rearfacing with dd. She bit 40lbs at 4 years give or take a few months.
Ds1 didn't hit 40lbs to closer to 5-6.
Ds2 is 28lbs fully dressed at 18 months. So he only needs to gain 12 pounds to reach 40lbs.
