We would have. When my son was younger seats only went to 35lbs RF, and we had to turn him at 22 months because he hit the weight limit. He was definitely 40 pounds before he turned 4, but has now levelled off some. He just turned 6, and is now 45 pounds and 48" tall. My son's torso height was also a big issue for us, though. He hasn't fit harnessed in his Nautilus since April.
