Re: House rules for hand held gaming system (or other electroics)

We don't restrict electronics. They'll go weeks without playing their ds and then for a few days play it a ton (usually snow days or rainy days where they're stuck inside whether they like it or not). They regulate themselves pretty good overall. The most I'll do is if they've spent too much time in one sitting on their ds or my ipad I tell them enough for now and to go play with actual toys - and they do that without a bit of complaint. I think they'd play more with their electronics if I put restrictions on them. Now dd1 does have restrictions like she needs to quick do her homework after her after school snack before playing my ipad or ds. She can't play it in the morning unless she's 100% ready for school and there is still time left in the morning (very very rare).
