Many moons ago when we began parenting DH was a little iffy on the whole nursing thing. How long, nursing in public etc. but he very quickly realized that "nursie" is the quickest answer to all of the worlds problems 11 years and we are about to have our 5th nursing child in a few weeks. Our 25mo is still nursing and going strong. You have to do whatever is best for your family but I would certainly make sure he knows the recs. from the AAP and WHO.
