That was exactly what I asked my DH last week! I knew they have a new house too so I bet the kitchen floor wasn't something remotely soft as most flooring in kitchens that is modern isn't soft. 
I guess when DH's boss talked to the EMT's on the way home, they said to him "can you hurry home? Your daughter appears to be okay but your wife is not." I think she really is suffering from PPD.
