Did you know that black wedding dresses were the common color prior to queen Victoria.

Nothing to do with being impure. A dyed black dress represented wealth (plain linen meant you were poor).

Queen Victoria brought made white dresses popular. She represented purity ect so I guess it rubbed off to the wedding lore.
