Re: How to shovel driveway with a tiny baby?
Wait until Baby is asleep and then step outside to shovel. He will be OK for a few minutes. If you're nervous, step back inside every 15 minutes or so. But really, what can happen to an unattended baby, asleep in a crib? And how is it different from when you are in the shower?
For what it's worth, that's how I raked our whole yard full of leaves when I was about a week postpartum last fall. I did about 20 minutes per day for a full week. It was the first time I really felt human again.
It does get cold enough here in Minnesota that I feel uncomfortable bring my new son outside. I was OK with the idea until it got into the 20s, but that's pretty darn cold And now it's been below 0 quite a bit over the past week. Also, the risk of slipping on ice while carrying a baby makes me nervous.
