Re: If you own a serger, is it worth it?
My serger is my most used machine, it's a Brother 1034D. It didn't cost a lot, I bought it on Ebay for under $200 and it works beautifully. I couldn't do without it. Something to consider is what you prefer to sew. I like sewing with knits, my preferred projects are clothing. My mom has a lovely Bernina computerized serger that's worth well over $3000 that just sits because she's a home goods/quilting type.
