Re: February TTC#1 -No Children Mentioned-

Hello everyone! There are a few threads on the TTC board that I could fit into (30+, NTNP, and this one). I thought I come in and introduce myself here.

We've been trying for our first baby since early August. We conceived in November, but lost that little one last week. I don't have any known health issues. There is a long history of miscarriages among all the women on my mother's side of the family and now among me and my sisters. Despite that sordid history there still have been LOTS of babies between all of them -- so that gives me hope.

As an aside: My recent miscarriage made me aware of how very little I knew about miscarriages. Between all the books I've read and all my doctor's and m/w visits they never once prepared me for miscarriage, yet it's apparently very common! Two OBs told me the rate is 25-33% for women in my age group. Why aren't people teaching us about miscarriages? There was SO MUCH that I wanted to know when I was going through the worst of it, and now I am desperate for information on how to best help my body heal.
