Three generations of my inlaws (gmil, mil, sil) show love or something like love by buying clothing for my daughter. I show my daughter love by letting her wear pretty much anything in her wardrobe whenever she wants to. She's outside in the mud in (what I embarrasingly think of as pretentious) Ralph Lauren sweaters all the time. She has so much clothing that there is practically nothing I won't allow except for seasonally inappropriate clothing. So if she pulls out a dress with built in crinoline for a trip to the library so be it.
But I'm from the NE so I never put head-eating bows on my daughter anyway. And she has never been anyone's billboard - not even mine.
I run the Frontier Wholesale co-op in February, May, August & November
