Elizabeth Adeline's fast and furious entrance into the world!
At 5:30 a.m., Mia woke up, so I brought her into bed with us. She had been waking early the last week and a half and coming to snuggle with us, Friday was no different. I began having contractions. Some were a bit painful, but I had been getting these every morning for the past few weeks and they would go away once I got up and ate, so I tried to get some sleep, but was up by 6:30. Made Mia breakfast, let the dogs out and fed them and made myself some toast. I think I was too busy to even pay attention to the contractions and I knew I had a doctors appointment later that day, so if something was going on, I would definitely learn then. I was having contractions every 4-6 minutes, but none of them were painful at all, so I really just thought it was nothing. To my surprise when the doctor checked me, I was 3 cm! I was so excited and both the dr. and I were pretty sure that she would definitely be showing up soon. I was instructed to go home and have sex, which Kevin was extremely excited about, lol. We got home and we started to clean the house. I ran out to grab some lunch because we still needed to go grocery shopping later that day. I came back and Kevin headed out the door to go to the gun range. He kissed me good bye and I felt a tiny little gush, so I thought I had just trickled a little urine. Went about eating my lunch and the next contraction hit and several uncontrollable gushes started and I knew it wasn't pee. So I hopped up and ran to the bathroom, thankfully pretty much making it the bathroom without getting any on the carpet. I noticed my white pants were now stained brown and looked to see the dreaded meconium in the toilet. I went to wipe and noticed a large piece of the amniotic sac hanging out  I freaked, thinking it was the cord and then quickly realized what it was. I tried tugging on it and it wouldn't come out at first. I was finally able to get it out, grabbed a towel to put inbetween my legs and ran out to find my phone to call Kevin. I'm literally running around the house with a towel inbetween my legs trying to get everything ready. It was really quite comical. I put on a pad and new underwear and pants. Kevin returned home and helped me get everything ready. Because of the meconium, we thought it was best not to wait to try and get a hold of someone to watch Mia.
On the way to the hospital, every contraction was increasingly painful and more and more water would come out. My pants were literally soaked! When Kevin pulled up to the front entrance of the hospital and I got out, the water was pouring down my leg, soaking my flip flops. I walked through and had 3 people ask me if I wanted a wheelchair, but I insisted I was good. Stopped at a pole for a contractions, where more fluid came out (there was literally a trail of fluid, Kevin later told me). A security guard insisted that I needed a wheelchair and wheeled me up to L&D.
Once I got to my room, I apparently had a nurse that was new and in training She was so freaking slow getting everything set up and the contraction monitor was not picking up anything, but I was very obviously and painfully contracting. She checked me and I swear she was mashing my clitoris and said I was only a 2-3. :-? Huh? I was just a 3 an hour and a half before that They got a new contraction monitor hooked up and they were hitting 120 and going as high on the monitor as it could. It was so painful and every contractions, more fluid was coming out. I couldn't believe all the fluid. I literally could not take the pain anymore. Contractions were one on top of the other and peaking higher then they ever did when I was in labor with Mia and had pitocin Shocked I couldn't get out of bed (literally, the pain was paralyzing). I begged for the epidural and received one very quickly, thank goodness. Once it kicked in, the nurse checked me again and I was 5-6 cm. About a half hour later, the nurse that was training the new nurse asked me if I was feeling any pressure. Apparently Elizabeth's heartrate was dipping pretty low and she said it was a sign that I was fully dilated. I didn't feel any pressure, but as soon as the next contraction hit, I immediately felt the pressure. Nurse checked me and I was indeed fully dilated. So from me first getting checked at 1:30, I was fully dilated at 3:00 p.m. Shocked took an hour and a half for me to do it. We basically sat around waiting for the doctor to show up. I couldn't close my legs because her head was right there. It was a good thing I had the epidural, because if I didn't, I'm sure she wouldn't have waited for the OB to show up! I was fine with waiting, let the contractions push her out, less work for me, lol! The OB arrived around 3:20 and Elizabeth was born at 3:44 p.m., so not much pushing. She came out crying and thankfully had no complications from the meconium :yahoo: Her Apgars were 9/9 :yahoo: Official stats:

6 pounds 10 ounces
20 inches long
She seems SO much smaller then Mia ever was! I feel like a first time mom all over again, lol!! Loving every minute of it though!
I am so glad they let me go home early. Every time it was time for me to nurse, I was bombarded with people coming in for random crap or them needing to take her away for lab work or ped visit I was so uncomfortable there and I knew things would be much more comfortable in my own house, on my own couch and sleeping in my own bed. Since everything came back great and Elizabeth has not lost ANY weight (Mia only lost an ounce in the hospital also, guess my girls come out prepared, lol) and I had absolutely no tearing ( :yahoo: ), both Elizabeth and I were released to go home at 4:00 p.m. Nice home cooked meal. And I really missed Mia. This was the longest I had ever been away from her. Mia is taking great to her, giving her kisses and saying "baby!". She tried to get her to smell her flowers, lol. So far, so good!
