i just wanted to second the above poster - that having your water break def. makes your labor MUCH MUCH harder. the water kinda acts as a cushion. mine broke a bit during an internal & then they broke it the rest of the way at 9ish for me. and bam it went from 6 to 60 as it were.

the other good thing about not letting them break your water (unless necessary of course) is that it doesn't start that hospital 24 hour clock ticking.
