Re: Midwife or OB?

For my first baby I'm going the OB route--even way out here in the country I've found a doc that really is supportive of my demands--although when I first told him we're going to CD he kind of just shook his head (he's originally from San Diego.. I'm originally from San Francisco... how we both landed up out here in the Blue Ridge Moutains of VIrginia STILL makes us laugh). I think it's all about finding someone you're comfortable with. The only MW I know around here also runs a vegetarian resturaunt--it's my favorite food around--so I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her helping me with my baby when really it's her Spicy Fried Noodles I love... hmph.

I am totally not against a midwife though--hopefully when we get out of the boondocks (some folks got some CRAZY ideas around here about what is acceptable for "birthin'" and "rearin'" children...) I'll be able to find a good MW for our other children..
