Is there any way you could find a really good family Dr. and use that Dr. instead of a ped? Here, nobody sees a ped unless something unusual is going on. I take all the kids to a family Dr. for well baby visits and anything else that requires a Dr. If it's something more complicated she gives us a referral to a Ped. for that specific issue.

I really feel that well baby visits are so important. It's a lot more than tracking growth and development. I know of several people who had their Dr.'s pick up on something at well baby visits that they had no absolutely idea about. That being said, I really don't think a pediatrician is necessary. Find yourself a good family Doc that you love and go from there because I completely agree that this Ped and 100% the WRONG Doc for you and your family.
