Re: What are your toddlers favorite book to have read to them?
My 26-m-old is currently in a phase of wanting a new book (or several of them) every day -- doesn't matter what, or if it has pictures even. Just exploring. But past favorites have been Dr Seuss books (long and short), Sandra Boynton books, espec her ABC book, Have You Seen My Duckling?, and Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose. That's a huge book with something like 100 nursery rhymes. Great pictures. She sat still for 20-40 minutes of it at a time every night for over a month, and goes around now reciting miscellaneous nursery rhymes and songs. If you're short on English books, I'd go for that one; it'll set up your LO with most of the nursery rhymes that American kids learn in preschool and kindergarten!
