If you've survived a nursing strike, can you give me any hints or suggestions on how to make it through? DS is 6 months old and barely nursed yesterday and has flat out refused today. There is so much going on that I don't know what to blame it on. He cut his first tooth last Monday, has started army crawling all over the house and is getting good at sitting. I know that all of these can be contributed to a nursing strike, but it doesn't make it any easier. I have tried offering the boob every hour or so, but he gets really mad, rolls over and cries. He has had solids twice today and was eager the first time, then acted like he was in pain the second. I gave orajel and then tried again and he did fine. Another problem is that he is usually nursed to sleep and he can't settle down on his own so sleepy times have been miserable. I ended up giving him 3 bottles (only like 2-3 ounces) of breastmilk when he got really grouchy and really needed to get to sleep. How long will this last?!?!
I forgot to add that I am going to call the pedi tomorrow and get in there, just to rule out an ear infection... he's never had any so I don't know how he would act.
