Re: MSG-free Cream of Mushroom soup?
I just recently started making my own and it is pretty good in casseroles but be aware if is nowhere near as salty as the canned variety.
Cream of Mushroom Uncanned Condensed Soup
3 Tablespoons of Butter
3 Tablespoons of Flour
1 Tablespoon minced onion
1/4 cup of chopped mushrooms
1/4 teaspoon of salt
dash of pepper
1/2 cup chicken broth
3/4 cup milk
Melt butter in saucepan and saute mushrooms and onions.
Stir in flour and seasonings.
Cook over medium heat until bubbly, stirring frequently.
Add milk/chicken broth slowly, stirring with wire whisk to prevent lumps.
Cook until thick.
