i have some ov that's held up better than others in the softness department. i do find that vinegar in the rinse helps though.
no - like the pp said not stay dry.
as for the poly content issue - velour actually just refers to the "style" of a fabric (like terry or jersey) - i think it's the way they do the loops of fabric...so you can have 100% poly velour or as in the case of ov 100% cotton (orgainc cotton) velour.
