Oooo . . . this thread is making me hungry! We use cream in pureed veg soup (butternut squash is a favorite but potato is really good too ). Making a great big pot of soup means you've got enough for a large gathering or leftovers for several days, and you can use quite a bit of cream this way. It's also great to whip it up and top a dessert with it--just takes a few minutes but turns something ordinary into something really special.
