TSH is the hormone that tells the body to produce more or less of the actual hormone, not the thyroid hormones themselves.

If a person has low thyroid hormones (NOT TSH) that person has hypothyroidism
High thyroid hormones (NOT TSH) the person has hyperthyroidism.

It is very important to know the difference, what your particular medical needs are, and treat/research accordingly.
Opps...meant low thyroid levels, not TSH. I was typing quickly with a baby on my lap. Last time I had then check about 2 months ago they were 1. something. I take 125 mcg of Synthroid daily.
