It kind of depends on how far along you are. Wtih my dd I started having 3D ultrasounds at lik 28 weeks and there was no denying what she was. Sometimes you can't avoid the area because they squirm so much. I had a 3D ultrasound with the baby at 18 weeks and had they not told me what it was I never would've figured it out.
