We actually bought very little baby food. We just used regular applesauce and I'd buy foods and cook them/puree them. It was alot cheaper than buying tons of jars. We saved jars for things I didn't want to cook (couldn't make spinach not slimy and icky) and for the diaperbag/traveling/etc...
