Read labels VERY carefully, especially on things that look "safe". Many companies have cross contamination. I have found dairy warning labels on things like tomato puree, canned beans, non-dairy creamer, cool whip, etc. Just because you think its safe, doesn't make it safe. Read every label. Even on things you've bought in the past that were safe. Sometimes they change ingredients/substitute ingredients without putting a "new/improved" label.

FYI, just because it may not be dairy doesn't mean it isn't something else. Only one of my 3 were sensitive to dairy, but the other 2 had an equally long list of allergens. You should keep a food diary to see if you can notice any trends. That's how we found my daughter's potato allergy.
