Re: First Time Cloth Diapering-Should I Invest in a Newborn Stash?

I think for a first baby being CD'd a newborn sized stash is important because trying to make too-big diapers work is likely to turn parents off to CDing at all. The amount you spend on a NB sized stash is still much less than the amount you will spend if you give up on CDing and switch to disposables for the rest of the child's diapering time.

And if you're going to use NB prefolds or flats, you will easily be able to use them in the future as doublers or inserts, burp cloths, rags, under the bum on the changing pad, swifter covers, anything. NB fitteds and AIO can be resold.

And you get far less diaper blowouts with cloth, especially in the early weeks.
