The antibiotics they give you during labor, though, aren't for you - they're for the baby to fight the GBS if he should happen to contract it in birth.
For the mom, GBS is nothing major, just something that some people carry and some people don't. Yup, it can change from negative to positive and back, so the antibiotics may clear it up and then it could come back the day after delivery. But again, the antibiotics aren't for the GBS in the mom, they're a preventative measure for the baby.
