Leg Cramps
Does anyone have any tricks for treating nightime leg cramps? I am trying to eat bananas and using a heating pad at night, but still waking up in pain every night!

Re: Leg Cramps
Bananas always did the trick for me.
Maybe ask your doc to check your potassium, bc you might need an actual supplement instead of just upping your intake.

Re: Leg Cramps
Aghhhh! I woke up with my first one of this pregnancy last night. I'm trying to add more potassium. I think I remember hearing something about calcium too, maybe?!

Re: Leg Cramps
Make sure you are getting plenty of fluidds as well. Try to straighten your foot it will hurt at first but it will stretch it a little before you rub it out.
I get them a little now but they go away as soon as I straighten my foot.

Re: Leg Cramps
Make sure you are not eating/ drinking tons of sodium during the day as well. My hubby has this crazy condition called hypokalemic periodic paralysis which has to do with low potassium. I know that if he has high carb or high salt foods it disrupts his potassium levels.

Re: Leg Cramps
Ugh, I am so with you. With DD I had them so bad, my leg would hurt all day! I upped my potassium, calcium, fluids, etc and still got them. They have just started this time around and they are so painful.
Maybe I will try a potassium supplement.

Re: Leg Cramps
I don't get the crazy cramps but I have had leg pain & restless leg issues this whole pregnancy, with it being WORSE the last couple weeks.
I jiggle the whole car when we go anywhere because wiggling helps. <--DH can't stand it.
