Aveeno rash cream CD safe?
It seems like every thread I read about rash creams has a different opinion...so I'm wanting to know for sure...is Aveeno Soothing Relief Diaper Rash Cream safe for my diapers? It is the only stuff that has made even the slightest difference in helping my DS's butt and penis heal. I have been letting him go naked during the day at home and then if we have to go out or it's bedtime I LATHER him up (like his parts are completely white) with the stuff and put a sposie on him. There has been improvement and I'm *fingers crossed* thinking he may PL this way but I still want to be able to use his cloth when we go out and for bedtime.
FWIW, staining does not bother me, so if that's all the Aveeno cream will do, then I'm not worried. Repelling on the other hand...no thanks! He has to have stay dry so everything in his stash has either microfleece or suedecloth lining. I wash with Tide and have ridiculously hard water. Thanks for your help!

Re: Aveeno rash cream CD safe?
I looked up the ingredients and saw zinc oxide which is a big no-no. It won't wash out of the diapers, I know from experience with BG's suedecloth. If you really want to use cloth with the cream, get some cheap fleece and cut it into liners, otherwise just think of the sposies like a bandaid while his rash heals. Or just get to where you just use the cream and sposies at night.

Maybe once he is healed I can go back to putting CJ's on at night...I can only hope, I'd rather not have to buy sposies anymore...

Re: Aveeno rash cream CD safe?
We use this almost daily with my son and have for over a year with no issues. I have fitteds and wash on sanitary with Tide. I have never had repelling issues or staining. I used it with my BG 3.0's and everything else (BB's, HH's Kushies, Softbums, Thirsties, etc). Pinstipresandpolkadots rates it safe for cloth diapers. Not all zinc is bad btw. I think it also has to do with how much you use, your wash routine and your detergent.
