Stripping Ooh la la

Any ideas on how to strip my diapers?
Dawn is not getting the stink out of my Thirsties Fab Fitteds.
Should I try bleach? Vinegar?
Anu suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

The tag reads as follows:
Inner & soaker 100% polyester
Outer: 85% cotton 15% polyester
Machine wash hot with additive-free detergent.
No bleach or softeners. Tumble or hang to dry.

What has been your process for stripping?
Have you tried a soak in detergent? The microfiber sewn in tends to hold funk for me if I don't soak a bit. I just stop the washer during the wash cycle and let everything marinate for a while.

I just squirt in a BUNCH of dawn, and wash.
Then rinse until no suds.

Should I soak in dawn or my regular diaper detergent?
I use Charlie's soap & Calgon water softener

Are you using ENOUGH soap?
I noticed I had stinky problems even after the dawn and bleach/vinegar combos.

You can strip using Tide. Wash on hot with the full amount of tide (per the box instructions). It is important to use the full amount. Then do 2 hot washes with no detergent or until suds rinse out. You can also stop the machine and soak the dipes in the hot water and Tide for a couple of hours before the wash. This stripping method can be done with any enzyme detergent, but you have to use the full amount as instructed per the packaging. This method seems to work well with the synthetic fibers.

Re: Stripping Ooh la la

I did a soak in VERY hot water and dawn and then scrubbed each pocket diaper (those are the only ones of mine I've ever had to strip). I then did lots of hot washes w/o detergent. To strip microfiber/cotton, I'd use bleach. Cotton is tough. It can handle it. I'd use 1/4 cup and do lots of hot washes afterwards (just water).
