Why OPK's should never be used for TTA!

This picture is of two opk's that I took within hours of each other!! The first was not really even close to looking positive. I took another opk two hours later because I was feeling a little crampy and it was super positive! If I would have been relying on opk's alone, I would have been in BIG trouble. Now I just have to hope that us BD'ing a couple of days ago keeps us in the clear I have had no AF for over 4mths and had no fertility signs whatsoever a couple days ago. Anyway, just thought I would share how quickly OPK's can change!

Yep, thats why OPK's don't work for everyone. Toni Weschler doesn't recommend them in her book TCOYF, unless you check multiple times per day you can miss your surge so easily.

Yeah, I knew you could miss your surge but I always thought they would at least look a lot darker as you approached your surge. We are just starting to practice NFP so I was trying to use everything I could while I am learning.

I am 10dpo today and took a test this morning. So far there is no second line in sight!

They are ovulation prediction tests. They test for the surge of luteinizing hormone that is released about 24 hours before you ovulate. There may be a little more to it than that but that is what I know about them
