Question Original Dawn vs Ultra Dawn?? can't we just use less to strip?

Just curious.. I don't have to strip often and when I do I've normally just boiled my inserts/prefolds but other people have asked me about using Dawn. Here on DS I've seen people have said you have to find the OLD original Dawn for it to work correctly.. what is the difference?

Really? I found that a squirt of ultra dawn in scalding water stripped our diapers just fine

Hmm. Not exactley sure but it IS VERY different. It's not the same formula but more concentrated. It's a different formula altogether. For example Dawn ultra you can't make bubbles for your kids with this. It does not make a bubble but the old blue Dawn does. Very different stuff. I'm sticking to the dollar store blue dawn myself.

If your having trouble finding the original blue dawn you can buy it at Dollar general. Dollar tree doesn't carry it but dollar general does(well at least in MD lol)

Ultra dawn has more foaming agents in proportion to the surfactant (which actually does the cleaning). A college roomie was a science education major and was talking about that in regards to a lesson she was writing. So, it seems like it is better at cleaning, when all it does is make more foof that is harder to rinse away.
