Is it likely he'll regress?

My son (32 months) woke up from nap with a bad diaper rash. After that, I left him diaperless (with underwear) to air it out. He told me he wanted to sit on the potty, so I pulled it out (after many months of it being put away). He sat on it for about 15-20 minutes (he didnt want to get off) and peed.

We praised him and he was excited, then we sat down for dinner. In the midst of dinner, he jumped up and said he had to peepee, so we took him to the potty and he peed again. Again, tons of praise. After dinner, while I was cleaning the kitchen, he went on the potty again(without telling us).

Is this truly a sign he's really ready? Or is he likely to regress tomorrow and refuse to pee? Any advice? I am so lost at potty training. I tried back at 16 months, failed.Tried again at 22, failed again. Then at 26, and after that I just decided to quit trying and wait. I don't want to get my hopes up if its more likely that he'll stop again.

What is your experience?

He's ready! Just keep praising/rewarding him and he'll keep going. Some kids just train earlier!
