What is the difference?

What's the difference between a dairy allergy and a dairy sensitivity? My EBF LO has mild reactions that resemble those of babies with dairy allergies, but only when I've had a large amount of dairy. Is it possible that his symptoms are only triggered by the large amount of dairy and that having the regular 3 servings a day is fine?
ETA: His symptoms are fussiness, green mucousy poo, large amounts of spit-up (I mean like projectile vomitting - milk pouring out) And we only have these issues on days (and days after) that I've had at least two large glasses of milk in addition to yogurts, cheese, ice cream, etc. But days that I've had normal amounts of dairy are fine?

Yes, it could be that he could handle small amounts and not larger amounts. But if you really want to be sure I would eliminate all dairy for a couple weeks and pay close attention to everything, then add back in your small amounts to be sure you don't notice any small changes or discomforts.

Re: What is the difference?

Allergies show up in poo (mucus and color change).. sensitivity in spit up. Or so I've been told. There are probably symptoms that you might not be noticing when you have the normal amount of dairy.
