My 4 year old is REALLY into rainbows right now, so I made her this rainbow sweater for her birthday last week.

I used Red Heart soft solids (on sale at Michaels' last week). For acrylic, it really wasn't bad to work with!

I frogged the edging on it a few times, because I *really* wanted to get the loopy edge just right. Once I figured it out, I made this tutorial. Some people may not have trouble figuring out that edging with the instructions given, but I had a heck of a time.

That is awesome!!! I have been dying to knit one of those for my DD forever. She will be 4 in Oct., do you think she will have any growing room? I love your colour choices! How long did it take you?

I LOVE that!!! It is a hard knit? I really want to try a sweater pattern, but I am not sure if I am ready....

Yours is adorable, love the rainbow colors!

I knit a grown up version of this several years ago and love it. I had a hard time finding a closure that I liked and it would slip off shoulders plus I wanted to be able to wear as sweater or shrug. I ended up knitting I-cord ties and would thread through loops and tie works great.

That is an awesome idea! I added a wooden toggle, but it's not ideal. I'll give this a shot next time around!

I started it on Sunday night and finished it Friday morning. I would have finished it Thursday, but I was really tired.

It's not the easiest sweater I've ever knit, but it's not terribly difficult. The hardest part for me was the loopy edge.
