Going crazy from the itching!!

Anyone knows what I can put on my tummy to curb some of this insane itching? It is especially bad on/around my c/s scar. Like, so bad, that I wake up at night to itch it! I don't remember being this itchy with DD. I usually am very selective of the personal care products I use, but am willing to try anything conventional and full of phthalates if it gets rid of this awful itching! I am desperate! TIA!

Re: Going crazy from the itching!!

Is it raised or rashy looking? I would be worried it's PUPPS. It's harmless and there's nothing special to do for it, but I would bring it up. I'd try anything anyone could throw at me and my itching never went away.
Good luck with the coconut oil!

Have you had a liver panel? Its rare, but cholestasis of the liver during pregnancy happens sometimes, and can be life threatening. I had itching with my last, and my liver panel was normal, but it should be checked out. JMO.

My cure for itching was delivery, lol. I tried everything, and I was just itchy all over all the time. It was funny, when I delivered it was like the itchy switch was turned off. It was that fast!

Re: Going crazy from the itching!!

I'd look into PUPPS. Although, if it is PUPPS, not much can be done.
I have meds I take orally and steriod cream that I apply 2x a day because the itching was so bad I have scabs all.over.my.body and they weren't healing and something needed to be done.
I just hope that once she pops out, the itch is gone!!!

Is it PUPPS though even if I don't have any red or rash-like patches? My tummy skin only gets a bit red after I basically scratch it raw.

IME, you can see PUPPS. I don't remember it being very raised, but there were noticeable patches. It wouldn't hurt to look into the condition the other poster mentioned.

Re: Going crazy from the itching!!

I had PUPPS that I could not see very good at all when preggo. Only after scratching hysterically really. Then, I delivered and got to be one of the unlucky 15% of women that do not have PUPPS go away after delivery. That is truly when my nightmare began. It exploded and spread everywhere. I literally laid in bed with my sweet newborn beside me every night thinking of what else I could put on my skin. I couldn't sleep. And I tried it all in the way of creams and soaps. Taking dandelion root capsules was the only thing to calm it down. My PUPPS did not fully go away until 7 mos pp.
