Do you have a Whirlpool Duet front loader?

I'm new to cloth diapers, and I'm unsure how to go about washing them. I know what I would do with a regular top loader, but I have a Whirlpool Duet front loader and I can't really play with the settings too much (at least that I have found). You are pretty much stuck with preloaded settings.

If you have the same washer and have found a good wash routine, what settings do you use? If you don't mind, would you walk me through your routine? I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes I have a 2005 duet. I have been CD for 5 months. I got the machine used in nov. And I have not got my wash mastered yet. Sorry

I've got an 04 duet. Here's my routine:

Set it to heavy duty
Click pre rinse and extra rinse
Click soil level to the high one

Put a wet beach towel in with diapers

Once the cycles over I do a quick wash with no soap

**I do know how to spell...my iPod on the other hand does not**

Do you mean extra rinse? I have a '11 machine, so I don't know if maybe they changed it, but I don't have an extra wash option on my machine. *shrug*

Yes it should be extra rinse. Darn iPod!

I have a duet sport.

1. quick wash on low spin (no detergent).
2. Heavy duty wash, extra rinse (detergent to line 2).
3. Rinse/spin (no detergent).
Sometimes I do 1-2 drain/spin cycle at the end to extract more water & speed up my dry times.

Mine was bought in 07, but I don't know what model it is.

My typical wash routine is
Heavy Duty wash on hot with extra rinse and Tide. Sometimes I do another rinse on top of this, but not often and we don't have stink issues.

About twice a year I'll put the prefolds through the sanitize cycle with super hot water and only a little soap.

Which detergent do you use?
