If you make your own detergent

If you make your own detergent do you ever have stink issues? How often do you strip? do you add vinegar or oxy clean or anything else to you homemade detergent?

I use homemade detergent and haven't had any stink issues my detergent is a liquid. With borax, baking soda, and fels naptha bar soap all melted into water. I do use a scoop of oxyclean when I was diapers.

I heard that the diaper version of homemade detergent doesnt have the soap. Anyone know if this is true, I really want 1 detergent to use on everything that works on everything.

NO stink. I use the liquid too: fels,borax, washing soda and water.

Been using it for 9 months no stink ever.

I wash with 1 cup in hot, rinse with vinegar OR rinse twice. Both routines work.


I use all cotton diapers. This wouldnt work with synthetic.

I didn't have any stink issues when I used homemade but we had an awful film left on everything even our regular clothes. It got onto our skin and just itched something about our water I guess but it jsut didn't work I tried a few diffrent formulas but the end was always the same.
