What happened to that baby who could stand up from sitting at 5 months?

Somebody posted a video of their baby who was able to stand up from sitting on the floor (i.e. without pulling up on anything). It was absolutely incredible for his age, and I seem to recall he was crawling hands-and-knees at 4 months or something. Anyhow, I was thinking about it the other day and wondering when he started walking and if you have any more videos? It just completely amazed me!

I don't remember that thread but I do remember being freaked out by a little 9 month old that was walking at our church. Never saw a kid so young walking before.

i walked at 7.5 months, and DH walked at 8.. My sister walked at 8.5 months.. maybe we're just weird?

I walked at 8 months, but I was super tiny (13 pounds at 1 year) and apparently I freaked a lot of people out, haha.

It was the opposite for my DS, he started walking just before he was a year old, but he was already 30 pounds and pretty tall, so I had strangers asking me all the time if there was something wrong with him because he started "so late".

My oldest daughter was like this! She started walking at 9 months old and was 15 pounds at a year old. She looked like a 6 month old walking around.

DD was 8.5 months old when she started walking unassisted (pretty sure it was solely out of self-defense from her big brother ) It totally weirded me out and most people who actually knew how old she was were kinda weirded out too...she was pretty tall/stocky for her age though, so she wasn't like one of those little bitty 8.5 month olds wandering around....

Yep Tharen was walking and climbing at 8 months, running by 9, but he was big for his age so though he looked very babyish with his chubby chubby cheeks people weren't quite as freaked out as they would have been if he was tiny. It did present its own difficulties though. He would plow head long into things more than your average 12 month old just learning to walk, and he frequently climbed things he shouldn't have because he didn't have a lot of depth perception yet. Plus it was just more months I needed to try to keep up with him. Kearnan was helpful at least some of the time anyway.

Wow, 5 months is insane! I used to do childcare at my former gym and we had a seven month old who could walk unassisted. This child did everything early though. I'm pretty sure he mastered holding chopsticks before he was 2...
